Energi is an EVM-compatible, proof-of-stake crypto-currency platform with a focus on security and user experience. It is positioned as a low-fees layer 2 platform targeting Ethereum users.
As the lead engineer of the smart-contracts (Solidity, EVM) team at Energi Core I was responsible for the architecture, security and implementation of the smart contracts infrastructure powering Energi’s deFi, cross-chain and NFT products.
Leading a distributed team of up to 5 engineers, I have been designing the business logic and architecture of various dApps, defining and assigning tasks and reviewing code daily, conducting security audits, hiring and firing team members and discussing high-level company decisions with upper management.
The products we built include : Energiswap (Uniswap V2 clone with extra governance), Energiswap Farming, Energiswap Referral Program, Energi Bridge (Energi-Ethereum cross-chain bridge), GMI NFT Marketplace, Dragon Degens NFT collection and more.
My approach to product delivery consists in enabling short product-delivery cycles by designing MVPs with modular architecture and features, in coordination with product owners, front-end and marketing teams. I lead by example and have always been directly involved with producing the most critical parts of the code and taking responsibility for the products delivered by my team.
The main take aways I got from this experience are the importance of enforcing high standards for communication, following up regularly and in person with individual team members, using technical challenges when recruiting in addition to interviews, and firing under-performers sooner rather than later.
