About the Job

My client is the largest Bitcoin and blockchain company in Japan, operating a virtual currency exchange and marketplace. We provide our customers with convenient and exciting ways to buy, sell and spend bitcoins. The vision is to build a truly global Bitcoin and blockchain company to reflect the international nature of the virtual currency.
Established in 2014 in Japan and they also have offices in California and more recently in Luxembourg.
Our platform has facilitated over $250 billion in bitcoin in 2017.

We are looking for a team of 6 full-stack developers to develop our European operations from Japan, meaning that the role is based first in our offices in Tokyo (for 3-6 months training time) and then either in Japan or in Luxembourg together with European team.

You will help, build and maintain our digital currencies exchange platform in Europe. This will involve having a close relationship with our developers within the Group. It is vital that you have strong communication skills, are focused on delivering results and experienced with frequent and small release cycles.

Responsibilities:

Design and development of all aspects of our back-end systems as well as server and client-side of our bitcoin marketplace
Leverage your development skills to create, maintain and enhance our platform
Ensure the reliability and security of the exchange system

Required Skills and Experience:
Extensive technical knowledge of the Microsoft Stack (server and client-side)
several years’ experience developing in .NET Framework, ASP.NET (C#) and JavaScript, and databases, SQL Server, Microsoft Azure.


Desired Skills and Experience:
Familiar with Jira, Confluence and Agile methodologies
Knowledge of data architecture and algorithms
Knowledge of parallel and asynchronous programming
Experience developing financial systems
Experience developing large-scale services (able to design to reduce load)
Fundamental understanding of mobile app development
Experience with large-scale transaction processing

Extra specification on desired previous experience:
- Web experience (ASP.NET MVC preferred over WebForms)
-Unit testing
- Front-end focus
-Javascript MVC framework experience - welcome but not required (Vue, React, Angular, etc.)
-Experience writing a REST API is preferred (Web API, for example)
-Experience working on systems processing transactions especially high-volume or high-traffic systems - highly desirable
- focus on web development and not architecture (in the first phase we will not be involved with architecture)
