Head of Strategic Partnerships

Benchmark Protocol is a Supply Elastic Collateral and Hedging Device, Driven by the Volatility Index. The protocol operates as a rules-based utility that dynamically adjusts supply based on the CBOE volatility index (VIX) and deviations from the target metric - equal to 1 Special Drawing Rights (SDR) unit.Employing the SDR creates a larger use case rather than exposure to just one currency; this creates a larger user base and delineated exposure to markets around the world. The DeFi space needs a collateral utility that retains its efficacy and increases inherent baseline liquidity during periods of high volatility. Benchmark is built on the Ethereum blockchain. The MARK token is the native asset in the Benchmark network and provides only the utility value available to it through the Benchmark network. The supply of MARK adjusts by tracking the movement of the CBOE volatility index.


Summary

In this senior position, the Head of Strategic Partnerships will lead the efforts to grow the adoption of Benchmark's blockchain technology across the DeFi space and beyond. You will target strategic partnerships with other leading blockchain projects to create mutually beneficial relationships throughout the broader blockchain space and eventually into the traditional financial industry.


Primary Duties

● Conceptualize and execute strategic initiatives to increase the reach and impact of our ongoing efforts in advancing Benchmark’s focus areas;

● Coordinate the management of ongoing relationships with existing partners and where relevant, leverage those relationships to expand reach;

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute business initiatives, lead analysis and develop and communicate final recommendations for growing partner relationships;

● Develop systems and procedures in support of the identification, engagement and development of strategic partnerships.

● Project and promote Benchmark’s business initiatives to new audiences and partners;

● Develop and manage reporting and financial tracking of strategic partnership activities;

● Deliver professional sales presentations to potential partner organizations and Government clients with the ability to persuade and close business;

● Provide timely and accurate reporting of pipeline, strategic partnerships and management activities;

● Research trends, competition and funding sources.


Qualifications

● Advanced understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency markets and economic theory;

● Ability communicate (written and verbal) advanced technical, or economic concepts;

● 1+ years industry expereince within the Blockchain space is a must

● 2+ years experience in business development, partnerships, or sales for a high performing internet/technology company;

● Proven ability to find strategic partnerships that have led to increased revenue or publicity;

● Proven ability to negotiate and work with high level executives

● Strong analytical skills (financial, planning, operational)

● Desire to contribute broadly in a startup environment and ability to adapt to needs of the organization;

● Strong relationship building skills and an entrepreneurial approach that leverages further opportunities;

● Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and excellent relationship building skills.
