Spool is permissionless middleware that allows users and builders to access DeFi in a fully composable manner. It lays the foundation for a customizable, scalable, and efficient financial services ecosystem that bridges the gap between end users and DeFi primitives. Spool unlocks currently dormant capital and allows anyone to earn yield on their own terms while fueling DeFi primitives with more reliable and predictable liquidity.

Established as a DAO, Spool is guided by a list of highly experienced blockchain stakeholders from Faculty Group, CMS Holdings, Digital Finance Group, Synthetix, Fourth Revolution Capital, Signum Capital, Barnbridge, AllianceBlock, Energy Web Foundation, Centrality, and many more.

Spool conducted a Balancer Liquidity Bootstrapping Pool via Copper in early December 2021, raising over $16 million USD. Following the completion of code audits, Spool is set to launch in Q1, 2022.


The Spool DAO is seeking an experienced Chief Marketing Officer who can lead the ideation, coordination and execution of our global marketing activities.

You are a DeFi native with experience in yield farming. You are a highly analytical and creative marketer who understands the nuance of crypto (and more specifically DeFi) marketing, and enjoys rapidly testing, learning and scaling new methodologies and tactics.

You’re an energetic and organized self-starter with experience in building and managing teams and you possess demonstrable experience as a senior marketing decision maker for a blockchain project.

You lead by example and are happy to get your hands dirty and ‘get the job done’ yourself when required. You are an accomplished communicator, capable of polished original writing, editing, and proofreading.
You present just as well to a large room as you do to an individual.

You will work alongside the CBDO to support marketing activities and messaging aimed at the traditional finance sector. As CMO of Spool you will be surrounded by other world-class operators and work closely with the senior team to achieve organisational goals as set by the DAO.


● Develop and implement an overall vision for driving engagement within the blockchain community for Spool.
● Collaboratively produce Objectives and Key Result areas (OKRs) alongside the DAO Representation & Oversight Working Group.
● Introduce novel ideas and robust approaches for better understanding our community’s needs and how we most effectively communicate with them.
● Establish a clear brand narrative and comprehensive content marketing strategy to ensure a steady cadence of news, updates and announcements to the broader market.
● Build a high-functioning marketing team including social media coordination, community management, content creation, DAO relations.
● Source, negotiate, and manage a team of external partners including PR, media, marketing, and content.
● Lead content & communications planning, execution, and metrics reporting; inclusive of content creation and curation, PR and media management, influencer marketing, social media coordination, and partnership co-promotion activities.
● Manage all media distribution channels including Discord, Twitter, Medium, Telegram, Youtube, LinkedIn, Email and others.
● Develop engaging short and long-form content, communications, and PR strategies and initiatives, and coordinate execution with internal team and external partners
● Brainstorm and develop pitch, article, and editorial ideas in partnership with internal thought leaders, 3rd party stakeholders, and media contacts
● Write compelling press releases, media pitches, blog entries, and thought leadership articles.

● Drive the content and communications calendar for internal (blog, website, community), and
external channels and submissions, including reports, articles, scripts, byline/contributed

● Proactively stay up to date about market trends, opportunities, risks and new projects, with a
passion for the cryptocurrency and digital asset industry.
● Manage relationships with key figures within the Spool DAO and engage them to support key
marketing activities.
● Utilise effective reporting metrics to track and analyse results, measure impact, and uncover
insights across marketing activities to help guide decisions for future planning.


● A sophisticated understanding of DeFi, yield farming, and the DeFi 2.0+ narrative
● Extensive traditional finance sector network
● Previous experience in a sales or business development role within the financial services space
● Exceptional project management experience with strong attention to detail
 and on-time /
on-budget delivery of outcomes
● Comfortable working with distributed, multi-national, and global team
● Native or near native English proficiency
