About the Job

We are seeking an experienced and motivated engineer who is as passionate as we are about developing and delivering amazing user experience. We’re looking for someone who is excited to own a project from the ground up, working with a talented team of technologists.

This role requires hands-on experience building cross-platform web applications and an in-depth understanding of microservices architectures as well as monolith applications. You will work directly with our CTO, product team, and an experienced team of developers. You will be instrumental in delivering a stellar user experience to our customers.

What You Will Be Doing:

+ Own technical architecture and implementation of our web application for customers to manage their health insurance and crypto tokens they earn for healthy behavior . This includes developing, testing and deploying the parts of the stack you own.

+ Building your applications from the ground up, delivering a front end application and building supporting services as they are needed.

+ Work with other development team members to identify or define appropriate APIs for consumption by the application you are building.

+ Collaborate with our UX and visual designers to implement a responsive front-end that delights customers and guides them frictionlessly through the core components of the application.

+ Own monitoring, alarming, analytics, and reporting on all services you build, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

+ Coach and mentor other members of the development team, growing the collective knowledge and expertise of the group.

What We’re Looking For:

+ 5+ years of software engineering experience developing highly reliable, scalable web applications on top of REST APIs and/or microservices.

+ Professional development experience and a high-level of comfort with web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3, with a solid understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.

+ A portfolio of previously implemented applications that you can point us to for review.

+ Demonstrable, in-depth knowledge and experience with at least one modern web application language, such as Javascript, Python, Ruby or Java. (send us a link to your GitHub)

+ An eye for responsive design and strong attention to detail

+ Hands-on experience with image authoring tools, and the ability to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image, as required.

+ Deep understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

+ Strong comprehension of computer science fundamentals, object-oriented design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.

+ Curious, continually learning, and eager to share your newfound knowledge with others.

+ Comfortable working in a devops/CI environment.

What Will Make You Stand Out:

+ Demonstrable interest in blockchain and decentralization and a desire to contribute to thought leadership in the company.

+ The ability to articulate the pros/cons of different web application frameworks, languages, and microservice vs monolith design patterns.

+ Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment, including raising the bar for operational excellence.
