About the Company

Payment infrastructure for company spend by AI agents. Spending rules, escrow and reconciliation across every rail. Saifuro LLC.

About the Job

Saifuro checks payments that AI agents try to make. An agent asks to spend, we compare the request with a mandate a human approved earlier, and the answer comes back signed so the receiving side can verify it. There‘s escrow on Base and Solana for trades between agents, and settlement is in USDC, onchain. We never hold customer funds. The docs are public at docs.saifuro.com, and the people who use them are developers building agents and the teams selling APIs to those agents.

We hold no customer funds, run no rail of our own and screen no transactions: a verdict is an authorization, not a compliance clearance. Keeping those three lines true, and provable, while the rules change is the job. You’d be our first lawyer and part of the leadership team. Call it head of legal if you prefer. General counsel is what partners and banks want to see on the signature line.

What you‘d be doing

• The line. Why we’re not a money transmitter, not a custodian, not a payment service provider and not a screening provider, written down under FinCEN guidance, state money-transmitter law, the GENIUS Act and MiCA, kept current, and flagged the day a product change would cross it.
• The contracts. Our MSA, DPA, order form and pilot terms in a version a customer‘s counsel signs without a call. Partner agreements with the rails (Coinbase, Circle, Stripe, the Visa and Mastercard agent programs), with wallets and custodians, and with vendors, matching what the system actually does.
• The escrow. Our contracts on Base and Solana hold other people’s money by design, and there is no path in which we can move it. You own what the escrow terms say, how a dispute runs when we are never the arbiter, and what the contract auditors and our own auditors need from us.
• The people. Employment and contractor terms in every country we hire in, through our employer of record, and the handful of policies a small company actually needs.
• Data. The decision log records who paid whom under which policy. The privacy policy, the subprocessor list and the DPA have to say exactly that: GDPR, UK GDPR, US state law, and the retention rules our customers‘ auditors will ask about.

What we need from you

• You’re admitted to practice and have 3+ years, including in-house or advisory work for crypto, payments or fintech companies on money transmission, custody or stablecoin questions.
• You live in one of the countries we can hire in.

Beyond these requirements, we‘ll support you in learning whatever else the role demands. If your experience is relevant but your title differs, we would still like to hear from you.

It helps, but isn’t required, if you‘ve dealt with a regulator directly (FinCEN, a state regulator, the FCA, an EU authority), if you’ve handled the legal side of smart-contract audits or onchain escrow, if you‘ve run a MiCA or UK crypto-asset authorization, or if you’ve been the only lawyer somewhere before.

Pay and benefits

• Salary $180,000 to $230,000. That‘s the US range. Outside the US we pay in USD, or in USDC if you’d rather, and set the offer against the top of the local market.
• Equity: 0.50% of Saifuro, vesting.
• Health: 100% of medical, dental and vision premiums for US employees, 75% for dependents. Outside the US, the local plan through our employer of record, or $300 a month toward private cover.
• 25 days of paid vacation plus your public holidays, and we close between Christmas and New Year.
• 14 weeks of paid parental leave, for any parent.
• A laptop and $1,000 toward your workspace.
• $1,500 a year for learning, conferences included. That‘s on top of the events you’ll attend for work: six to eight a year, planned a quarter ahead, on the company.

Hours are flexible. The one thing we ask is to be online from 14:00 to 17:00 UTC, when the team overlaps for calls and quick questions. That‘s a window, not the working day. The rest of your hours are yours to arrange, and partner calls will land in other people’s time zones anyway. If that window is the middle of your night, say so and we‘ll work something out.

You can combine this with other clients or a job at another company, as long as nothing conflicts: not our customers, not our competitors, not the rails we build on.
