About the Job

You will be responsible for supporting all core elements of the clients’ PR programs and serve as a primary day-to-day client contact, interacting with clients on planning and execution of strategy for media activities.


Your responsibilities include:

- Crafting media materials including pitch notes, news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, briefing documents, media alerts and boilerplates.
- Developing media pitches and working with targeted media on story development.
- Handling media relations activities that might include list building and maintenance, daily media monitoring, and scanning media to identify opportunities for clients.
- Researching and identifying appropriate media contacts to approach (eg. journalists, bloggers, analysts)
- Continuously building a firm understanding of media landscapes across national and more broadly, regional, industry-specific and vertical channels
- Track and report on media activity, including coverage reports, press clippings, online media engagement
- Assisting in preparation and development of business pitches.
- Support overall account management.

You should have:

- A minimum of 1 years’ agency experience (with tech portfolio preferred)
- Compelling writing and media relations skills, translating a client’s needs into media opportunities.
- In-depth understanding of key trade publications and national media outlets.
- Professional and pleasant interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to work in a team and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Offers thoughtful advice and recommendations to clients and team regarding media strategy, tactics and media opportunities
- Tactical grasp on ongoing campaigns, ensuring relevance and adapting when necessary
- An understanding of and knowledge around building newsworthy story angles
- Initiative to develop and improve writing ability to suit client needs, adapting and refining where necessary
- A Bachelor’s Degree.
