Wall Street research firm Bernstein has reaffirmed its $150,000 year-end price target for Bitcoin, signaling that the asset has likely reached its recent bottom. The projection comes as institutional adoption through ETFs and corporate treasury strategies continues to reshape the digital asset landscape, with implications for blockchain professionals across finance and corporate roles.
Institutional Bitcoin Holdings Reach New Scale
Analysts led by Gautam Chhugani noted that Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) now controls approximately 3.6% of Bitcoin's total supply, representing roughly $53.5 billion in holdings. The company has remained active during recent price corrections, raising $7.3 billion in 2026 to expand its position at lower price points.
Strategy's approach demonstrates a maturing corporate treasury model that other enterprises may replicate, potentially creating demand for professionals skilled in digital asset management, corporate finance, and blockchain treasury operations. The firm has expanded its capital-raising infrastructure by adding Moelis & Company, A.G.P./Alliance Global Partners, and StoneX Financial to its syndicate of sales agents, joining established Wall Street institutions including Barclays, Morgan Stanley, and TD Securities.
The expanded at-the-market offering program enables Strategy to sell up to $21 billion in Class A common stock, $21 billion in STRC preferred shares, and $2.1 billion in STRK preferred shares. This multi-layered capital structure aims to limit shareholder dilution while maintaining aggressive Bitcoin acquisition capabilities.
Market Dynamics and Professional Implications
Bernstein characterized Bitcoin's recent pullback from late-2025 highs as a temporary sentiment reset rather than a fundamental breakdown. Despite recent volatility tied to geopolitical developments, Bitcoin has gained approximately 7% since late February, outperforming traditional asset classes.
The institutional infrastructure supporting Bitcoin continues to mature, with sustained ETF inflows and corporate adoption creating specialized career opportunities. Professionals with expertise in digital asset custody, regulatory compliance, institutional trading, and corporate treasury management face growing demand as more traditional finance firms and corporations develop Bitcoin strategies.
Technical indicators suggest potential consolidation, with analysts identifying possible upward movement toward $85,000–$90,000 if Bitcoin breaches the $75,000 level. For blockchain professionals, this institutional validation reinforces the long-term career viability of the sector beyond speculative cycles.
