Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy has announced it will contribute to Trump Accounts for eligible children of U.S. employees, adding a new dimension to its benefits package as companies explore ways to attract and retain talent in the competitive crypto sector. The Nasdaq-listed company (MSTR) joins a growing number of firms incorporating the federal savings program into their compensation strategies.
Program Details and Structure
Strategy will deposit $250 annually into Trump Accounts for each eligible child under 18 of U.S. employees, regardless of birth date. For children born on or after January 1, 2025, the company will provide an additional one-time $1,000 contribution in the birth year, matching the seed deposit provided by the U.S. Treasury.
The move represents Strategy's participation in the Invest America Business Pledge, positioning the company among early corporate adopters of the program. Strategy CEO Phong Le framed the decision as aligned with the company's values around financial education and long-term investment thinking.
Context for Crypto Professionals
Trump Accounts, formally designated as 530A accounts, launched July 4, 2026, under legislation signed in 2025. These tax-advantaged investment accounts serve children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, with families able to contribute up to $5,000 annually. Funds remain locked until the account holder reaches 18, when the account converts to a traditional IRA.
The program has attracted attention from blockchain professionals after President Trump indicated Bitcoin could potentially play a role in the accounts. This aligns with broader pro-crypto policy shifts that have shaped the regulatory environment since the current administration took office.
For web3 professionals evaluating employment opportunities, benefits packages increasingly extend beyond traditional compensation. Companies in the digital asset space are developing creative approaches to differentiate themselves as employers, from equity structures involving tokens to programs like Strategy's Trump Account contributions. As the industry matures and competition for skilled talent intensifies, these enhanced benefits may become standard considerations when comparing job offers across blockchain firms.
