As Legal Director at a crypto exchange, I took the business into 13 jurisdictions. That meant MiCA CASP authorisation in Latvia, EMI and payment institution licensing in Malta and Latvia, and Canadian MSB registration. In the UAE, I set up ADGM holding structures and SPVs, obtained an FSRA Category 3A licence, and worked directly with the Central Bank of the UAE on a gold-backed stablecoin project. I also led a $350M private fund investment from term sheet to closing.
I ran my own practice for 10 years, and I have built legal functions from scratch at the exchange and at a Forbes top-100 group. In those roles I set the KPIs, ran legal operations and managed external counsel across many countries. Before that, I was Head of Legal at Sony Music and Senior Legal Counsel at LVMH.
